TaxDome has an MCP server, and as of October 2026 it is documented. The help centre now carries two articles, one explaining how the API and MCP connection work and one cataloguing the tools, both marked Beta and work in progress. The server is a hosted endpoint on the firm's own TaxDome subdomain, authenticated by signing in to TaxDome, and it is available to firms in the beta. For a Canadian firm on TaxDome, agent access has moved from promised to usable, with limits that matter for intake.
Status, verified October 2026
TaxDome's API & MCP explained article describes a remote MCP endpoint on the firm's subdomain, at yoursubdomain.taxdome.com/mcp, and a REST API at /api/v4. Firm owners and admins enable MCP and the API separately under Settings, choose which team members may use MCP, and every connection acts on behalf of the team member who created it, with Read only, Manage, Full access or a custom mix of Read, Manage and Destructive rights by resource type. MCP connections sign in to TaxDome and approve permissions; API keys are Bearer tokens, and write calls need an idempotency key. The article says there is no one-click install yet: TaxDome is not in Claude's connector directory or OpenAI's, so a firm adds it as a custom connector in Claude, with a command in Claude Code, or as a custom plugin in ChatGPT's developer mode.
The tool catalog covers clients, contacts, tags, notes and custom fields with read and write; jobs and pipelines, including creating a job, moving it between stages and reading what is blocking it; tasks with full create, update and delete; documents as files, with upload, rename, move, client notification and approval requests; and email, SMS and client chat sending. Organizers and tax returns are read only. The catalog states that file contents cannot be read, that message bodies are not available, that e-signature requests can be read but not created, and that there is no test mode during the beta, so messages sent through the API or MCP reach real clients.
Zapier lists a TaxDome server in its MCP catalogue. It is a third-party wrapper over Zapier's TaxDome actions, not a TaxDome product, and its coverage follows what TaxDome exposes to Zapier.

What an agent can do with TaxDome today
With the beta MCP server connected, an agent can work inside TaxDome's practice layer: find the client and the job, read the job's unfinished requirements, create and close tasks, upload a file into the client's folder and ask the client to approve it, move the job to the next stage, and send the client an email or a chat message through TaxDome's own channels. Organizers can be listed and read; whether the answers come back as structured fields is for a firm to confirm on its own account, since the catalog does not describe the response in detail.
What an agent cannot do is read the documents themselves. The MCP server returns document metadata, such as name, folder, client and approval state, but not the contents, so a 2025 T4 in the document library is a filename to TaxDome, not a slip with a box 14 amount. The stage-move and messaging tools send real client communications, so grant Manage and Destructive rights deliberately.
Where Armada T1 fits
Armada T1 is the system of record for Canadian T1 intake, with its own MCP server. It is where the answers and the figures go once an agent has read them: slip and receipt data recorded as validated section records with the source stored alongside, an expected-document list seeded from last year, and a completeness check that names every open item. With TaxDome's MCP server connected in the same session, the agent routes each open question as a task to the preparer or to the client through TaxDome's own tasks, and uploads the completed file into the client's TaxDome folder for approval. Armada T1 does not calculate or EFILE returns; the completed file is handed off to the CRA-certified tax software your firm already runs.
